DR. NEKIA STALEY

Dr. Nekia Staley is a native Washingtonian, devoted mother of six, accomplished dental
entrepreneur, and nationally recognized advocate for the special needs community. With over
two decades of clinical and business experience, she has built a legacy rooted in service,
innovation, and leadership—both in dentistry and beyond.

She began her academic journey at Spelman College as a Pre-Med Biology major, where her
passion for serving others was cultivated through volunteer work at the Hospital for Sick
Children and community shelters. She went on to earn her Doctor of Dental Surgery degree
from Howard University College of Dentistry and completed a DECOD fellowship at the
University of Washington, where she received advanced training in treating individuals with
intellectual, developmental, and physical disabilities.

Since 2004, Dr. Nekia has owned and operated multiple successful dental practices in Prince
George’s County, Maryland—delivering high-quality care to thousands of patients while creating
meaningful employment opportunities within her community. Her clinical expertise spans oral
surgery, dental implants, orthodontics, cosmetic dentistry, sleep apnea treatment, and facial
aesthetics. Alongside her clinical growth, she has invested heavily in advanced dental practice
management and leadership training, allowing her to scale and sustain thriving businesses.
In 2017, she founded Special Care for Special Needs Dentistry, a nonprofit organization
dedicated to expanding access to care through mobile dental services, caregiver education, and
community advocacy. Through strategic partnerships with day programs, nursing homes,
assisted living facilities, and group homes, her organization continues to impact underserved
populations. She also hosts an annual community health fair, providing free dental and
healthcare services.

Now, as the founder of The Other White Coats, Dr. Nekia extends her impact beyond the
operatory—coaching and mentoring dentists and healthcare professionals on how to build
profitable, purpose-driven practices and personal brands. Through intensives, coaching
programs, and curated experiences, she equips providers with the tools, systems, and mindset
needed to grow, lead, and create a lasting legacy in their careers.

Licensed in Maryland, Washington, DC, and Georgia, she also provides teledentistry and on-site
services in the Atlanta metro area. Dr. Nekia is an active member of the American Dental
Association, National Dental Association, International Academy of Facial Aesthetics, and Delta
Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. She also serves on the Board of Directors for the Prince George’s
County Chamber of Commerce and the UM Capital Region Health Foundation.
Her mission has evolved from simply providing care to transforming the future of healthcare—by
expanding access, empowering providers, and building systems that create impact at scale.
